Job summary

Ibstock Plc in Throckley (NE15 9EQ) seeks an Engineering Planner to coordinate maintenance, plan shifts, and drive reliability across engineering teams. You will work with supervisors and managers to schedule activities, manage a backlog, and ensure costed, safe on-site execution.

The role emphasizes liaising with production and central functions to maintain assets and improve overall plant performance within a 2-shift framework.

Qualifications

• Engineering training/qualifications (NVQ3, HNC).
• IOSH or equivalent safety certification.
• Experience with CMMS and T-card systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance shutdown coordination and establish best engineering practices.
• Schedule 2-shift plan for maintenance personnel and contractors; chair weekly planning meetings.
• Prioritise work backlog for all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with engineering team to provide a reliable schedule for shift engineers.
• Ensure cost capture and proper documentation for production plant maintenance.

Job description

• Leadership of the maintenance shut coordination, establishing best engineering practices
• Control and populate the engineering 2 shift plan for all engineering personnel across all disciplines including contractors. To chair weekly scheduling meetings for planned activities
• Control, populate and prioritise a work backlog for all maintenance activities or activities involving the engineering team
• Key involvement with the implementation of a new CMMS system and T-card system
• Work closely with Engineering Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering manager and Operational Managers to provide a schedule of work for shift engineers to maintain and improve the reliability of assets
• Liaise with production, services and central functions, to ensure that routine maintenance is planned and job requests are executed and costed efficiently and effectively
• Ensure that equipment removed from the plant, that is being repaired in-house, is coordinated through the 2 shift plan, Work Orders allocated to the repair of each item and appropriate cost captured
• Control of accurate records and documentation for all production and auxiliary plant including insurance records
• Site contact for contract Coordinate contractors to ensure safe and controlled activities are completed on site and to the quality of engineering standards
  Engineering Training / Qualifications (NVQ3, HNC )
