Job summary

Etex Bristol is hiring a Maintenance Planner to lead planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance across the site. You will work with maintenance teams, contractors and stores to ensure parts availability and safe, compliant work orders.

You will maintain CMMS records, drive continuous improvement and support asset reliability with a zero-harm safety culture. The role requires hands-on experience in FMCG manufacturing, strong engineering understanding, RCA involvement, and a track record in

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Maintenance Planner or similar in FMCG manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Proven CMMS experience to manage maintenance activities and asset records.
  • Track record in a fast-paced production maintenance department.
  • Experience conducting RCA investigations and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability.
  • Lead planning and review meetings with stakeholders and contractors.
  • Ensure spare parts and materials are available for planned maintenance.
  • Monitor performance and report deviations to Engineering, Planning and Production.
  • Review and approve maintenance work packages with Senior Engineers.
  • Ensure risk assessments, permits, and safety requirements are in place.
  • Support safety and compliant execution of all maintenance work.
  • Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records in the CMMS.
  • Champion safety culture and Zero Harm targets at the site.

Reporting directly to the Reliability Manager, the Maintenance Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities across the site. This position is responsible for leading maintenance planning and scheduling meetings, driving compliance and safety standards, and ensuring the accuracy of maintenance records within the CMMS system. Working closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and key stakeholders, the Maintenance Planner will help deliver safe, efficient, and well-coordinated maintenance operations while supporting continuous improvement and asset reliability objectives.

What you’ll do:
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability.
  • Lead maintenance planning and review meetings, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and any changes.
  • Work closely with Stores to ensure spare parts and materials are available for planned maintenance.
  • Monitor maintenance performance and communicate any deviations to Engineering, Planning, and Production teams.
  • Review and approve maintenance work packages alongside Senior Engineers.
  • Ensure risk assessments, permits, and safety requirements are in place before work begins.
  • Support contractors and maintenance teams to ensure all work is completed safely and compliantly.
  • Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records within the CMMS system.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and support the site's goal of achieving Zero Harm.
What you’ll bring:
  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Planner, or similar role within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Experience using CMMS systems to manage maintenance activities and asset records.
  • Proven track record working within a maintenance department in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and problem-solving activities.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and practices.
