Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (07:00–15:30 and 07:00–15:00 split)

My client a long-standing UK manufacturer that plays a key role in producing essential hygiene products used nationwide. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency, this business offers the opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team where your ideas and expertise will be valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed weekly maintenance plans, including 5-weekly engineering shuts
  • Coordinate labour, contractors (30–40 on-site during shuts), tools, and equipment
  • Translate daily maintenance needs into prioritised, achievable work plans
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Leads, Engineering Manager, and Production teams
  • Ensure all planned maintenance is documented and fully resourced (RAMS, SOPs, POs)
  • Maintain records using the CMMS system and support improvement of PPM schedules
  • Liaise with contractors and insurance inspectors
  • Promote health & safety through audits and safe systems of work

About You:

  • Mechanically biased with hands-on experience and contractor supervision
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills
  • Confident communicator who works well across departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and SharePoint (MS Project is a bonus)
  • Completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent)
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving industrial environment
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in paper/packaging or similar manufacturing
  • Supervisory experience
