Job description

We have a fantastic job opportunity for an Engineering Planner to join our manufacturing site at Rathbones Manufacturing Site, Wakefield. You will report to the Site Engineering Manager. An operation of this size requires constant attention, and it's the responsibility of our Engineering Planners to ensure our engineers have the right tools and equipment to keep our machines running at full capacity. The role involves overseeing work planning and control across all assets within the site boundary, including utilities and infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. The preparation, communication, and delivery of a weekly maintenance plan, ensuring efficient utilization of technical resources (internal labor and external contracts) to keep assets ready for production.
  2. Leading long-term planning aligned with production needs to optimize resource use.
  3. Managing CMMS master data and acting as a CMMS super user, including training colleagues, analyzing performance data to drive continuous improvement, and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance activities.
  4. Handling administrative tasks within the Engineering department, such as inventory control, contractor management, raising purchase orders within Oracle, and managing engineering documents.
About You
  • Experience working in manufacturing, FMCG, or similar fast-paced, commercially focused environments.
  • Experience in establishing and managing engineering planning processes and reports, including defining weekly activity plans with known resources, skills, and materials.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude towards work.
  • A calm demeanor and ability to engage positively with production teams to facilitate equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) systems and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
