Job summary

Vision Recruitment Ltd in St Neots seeks an Engineering Planner to coordinate Service Engineer activities, ensuring customer visits, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project work are scheduled with the right resources and information.

You will allocate work based on competence and location, maintain diaries, confirm appointments, and ensure work orders include scope, permits and contacts. The role requires strong planning and coordination within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning or scheduling engineering activities is a plus.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule planned maintenance, breakdown, commissioning, warranty and project visits.
• Allocate work to Service Engineers based on competence, location and availability.
• Maintain accurate engineer diaries and optimise routes to reduce travel.
• Confirm appointments with customers and update schedules as needed.
• Ensure work orders have correct scope, site information, permits, risk information and contacts.
• Coordinate parts, tools, access equipment and any subcontract support.
• Monitor overdue work and schedule risks; escalate issues when required.
• Support urgent breakdown planning and reprioritise resources to meet customer needs.
• Review completed visits and service reports to close follow-up requirements.

We are a well established international manufacturer with our solutions used in multiple industry sectors all over the world. We now require an engineering planner/scheduler to plan and coordinate Service Engineer activities efficiently, ensuring customer visits, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project work are scheduled with the right resources, information and materials.

• Plan and schedule planned maintenance, breakdown, commissioning, warranty and project visits
• Allocate work to Service Engineers based on competence, location, availability and customer requirements
• Maintain accurate engineer diaries and optimise routes to improve utilisation and reduce unnecessary travel
• Confirm appointments with customers and provide timely updates when schedules change
• Ensure work orders contain the correct scope, site information, permits, risk information and customer contacts
• Coordinate parts, tools, access equipment and subcontract support so work can be completed as planned
• Monitor outstanding work, overdue visits and schedule risks, escalating issues where required
• Support urgent breakdown planning and reprioritise resources to meet customer needs
• Review completed visits, service reports and follow-up requirements to support timely closure
• Maintain accurate planning, customer and installed-base information within business systems
• Work with Service Managers to balance workload, capacity, holidays, training and regional coverage
