Job summary

University of Bath is seeking a motivated Placements Officer to join the busy Placements Team. You will support undergraduate and postgraduate students, build industry relationships, and source new placements, with a strong emphasis on engineering sectors.

The role includes one-to-one employability coaching, delivering workshops, and presenting to groups. It is a part-time, hybrid position with a start date in January 2027, ideal for an organised, proactive communicator.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy team environment.
• Strong written English and clear, confident communication when presenting to groups.
• Good administrative record keeping and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with placement providers and proactively source new placement opportunities.
• Act as a primary contact for students, academic staff and employers for enquiries and guidance.
• Deliver employability support one-to-one and run skills workshops and talks for students, focusing on engineering placements.
• Support students to apply for placements in technology and automotive sectors, especially Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering students.
