Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to lead Murphy Applied Engineering’s Cannock office portfolio, focusing on water projects and permanent works. You will manage a multidisciplinary team across civil, structural, and process disciplines and oversee all design stages.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering, strong cost-control skills, and Chartered status where possible, with a track record delivering complex water projects.

Qualifications

• HND/Bachelor/ Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Designer with the ability to manage projects from the design and cost perspectives.
• Experience of effective financial management and control of projects.
• Strong analysis and design skills with the ability to interpret design requirements and analyse complex structures.
• Open-minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges to find the best solution from all perspectives of a project.
• Chartered with ICE and/ or IStructE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering delivery for water and wastewater treatment projects. Oversee all stages of design and delivery, including site surveys, option engineering, outline design, detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover on D&B projects.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with civil, process, electrical, ICA, and H&S teams to ensure seamless integration into the overall project.
