Job summary

Staffbase Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a very successful manufacturing client near Croydon for an Engineering Manager / Supervisor. You will oversee all planned and reactive maintenance as well as CAPEX projects, leading a small team of maintenance engineers and external contractors to keep plant and equipment in peak condition.

The role requires strong organisational leadership, a hands-on approach to electrical and mechanical maintenance, and a track record of improving

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience in manufacturing/industrial sectors.
• Experience leading maintenance engineers and external contractors with hands-on leadership on site.
• Trained in health and safety to IOSH or NEBOSH level.
• Qualification in electrical engineering (HNC/degree) and PLC systems knowledge.
• Strong organisational and leadership presence on site.

Our client is a very successful manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Engineering Manager / Supervisor.

Salary £65K - £70K Neg + Bonus

We are seeking an experienced engineering manager / supervisor to manage & control all maintenance and CAP-ex project activities at a large heavy industry processing plant near Croydon.

The Role:

The Engineering Manager / Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all planned & reactive maintenance activities and some CAPEX project work.

Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;

• Maintain and develop the existing CMMS
• Management & control of a small team of maintenance engineers and also external contractors
• Plan, manage and control all maintenance activities and engineering projects
• Effective Budget and CAPEX Project management
• Monitoring, sourcing and ordering spare and replacement parts
• Ensure adequate staff training, recruitment and disciplinary needs are met
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach and help to deliver efficiency and cost savings where possible
• Ensure compliance with all legal and HSE requirements
• Provide "Hands-on" assistance with electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance and repair of plant and machinery.

Candidate:

You will be an experienced maintenance supervisor / manager with previous experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector e.g. chemical plants, plastics, metals, quarry or recycling.

You will have at least 5 years management /supervisory experience and you must me confident in leading a small team of engineers and external contractors.

Ideally you will be trained in health & safety management to IOSH or NEBOSH level.

You will have a recognised qualification in electrical engineering e.g. HNC, degree or 18th edition certification and you will have good knowledge and understanding of plc systems.

We are seeking a highly organised and effective leader who will maintain a visible presence around the plant.
