Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the RoyaltyShare software engineering team in London. You will own the team’s delivery, technical direction, and operational health, partnering with Product and business stakeholders to translate complex royalty accounting into scalable solutions.

You’ll guide architecture across distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and platform services, while fostering an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture and driving

Qualifications

• Experience managing software engineers.
• Strong technical background in modern software platforms.
• Proficient in Python and JavaScript.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript and React.
• Experience with databases such as Snowflake, MySQL, Neo4j, Kafka, OpenSearch.
• Experience designing microservices and REST APIs with OAuth.
• Comfortable with AWS cloud technologies.
• Strong testing, observability, and incident-management practices.
• Excellent communication to influence stakeholders across business teams.
• Demonstrated delivery leadership in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the RoyaltyShare engineering team.
• Own delivery, technical direction, and operational health.
• Translate royalty accounting requirements into scalable technical plans.
• Guide architecture and design across distributed systems.
• Partner with Product to define priorities and roadmap.
• Establish engineering practices to improve quality and reliability.
• Coach engineers through code reviews and problem solving.
• Lead modernization initiatives balancing quick wins with long-term platform investments.
• Champion reliability, security, and observability across the stack.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and team growth.
