Location: Outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland
Company Overview: I am recruiting for a leading service provider company who are looking for an Engineering Manager in their facility on the outskirts of Glasgow to join their dynamic team of engineers.
Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of manufacturing processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a split between managing the 8 engineers on a shift pattern and not being afraid to assist the engineers when a breakdown/issue arises, so existing engineers can be upskilled.
Therefore, an individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical machinery and engineering principles is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8 engineers and technicians - some are inexperienced, so they require on-the-job training and development.

Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Utilise lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements.
Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
