Job summary

DeepL in London is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a small, senior full stack team and set the technical direction for our customer-facing web experience. You will own the customization surface end to end, including terminology, glossaries, style rules, translation memory, and access control.

You will collaborate with product managers and designers to shape the UX and drive adoption, while identifying unglamorous yet impactful improvements.

• Ability to work with product managers and designers to shape UX and deliver customer value.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small senior full stack team and set its technical direction across services and the customer-facing web experience.
• Own the customization surface end to end: terminology and glossaries, style rules, style profiles, translation memory, and the sharing/administration around them.
• Shape the product with product manager and designer to define how customization should feel to use.
• Identify opportunities to improve our delivery, focusing on unglamorous wins like organizing and surfacing many customisations.
• Take responsibility for customer adoption and usage, closing gaps in the journey.
• Reduce the setup burden so admins can configure customisation confidently.
• Partner with research to bring adaptive personalization into the product.
• Protect customer assets like glossaries and translation memories, ensuring they are safe and portable.
• Coordinate across research, product, design, platform, identity, and go-to-market teams to translate customer needs into priorities.
