Job summary

People Placement Group seeks a seasoned Engineering Leader to guide a multidisciplinary mechanical and electrical team, mentoring staff and driving project schedules to meet customer commitments.

You will oversee concepts through commissioning, ensure design quality and safety, promote standardization, and collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers while leading design reviews and managing budgets and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
• 5–10+ years of progressive engineering experience in industrial machinery, automation, OEM, or capital equipment.
• 5–10+ years of engineering leadership or team management experience.
• Experience managing resources, project schedules, and cross-functional execution.
• Strong understanding of machine design and electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with industrial controls, automation integration, and equipment troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary team of mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Manage engineering resources, workloads, priorities, and project schedules.
• Oversee engineering activities through full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
• Ensure solutions meet specifications, budgets, quality, safety, and performance.
• Promote design standardization, manufacturability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, service, sales, PM, and suppliers.
• Lead technical and design reviews for alignment across engineering and operations.
• Review specs, estimates, quotations, and material requirements for planning.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, deliverables, and identify risks with mitigation.
• Provide leadership in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Set departmental goals and development plans, supporting succession and growth.
