Job summary

Pleo is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Authentication and Authorisation team, owning the strategy and delivery for IAM across SMB and Enterprise. You will define a migration path between legacy and future architectures while maintaining security, compliance and trust.

You will mentor a team of 6–10 engineers, partner with Product, Security and Compliance, and ensure delivery is coherent with platform standards while raising the bar for quality and delivery tempo.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as an Engineering Manager with leadership impact.
• Hands-on depth in authentication/authorisation and modern identity platforms (OAuth, SAML, OIDC).
• Architectural credibility guiding migrations and legacy constraints.
• Strong stakeholder management across engineering, product and risk-focused partners.
• A bias for action: lead through ambiguity and momentum.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy and execution roadmap for identity, authentication and authorisation across SMB and Enterprise.
• Drive delivery and outcomes for the Authentication & Authorisation team, ensuring secure, scalable systems the platform can rely on.
• Roll out a new identity platform across our Enterprise offerings.
• Define and execute a pragmatic migration strategy between SMB legacy service and the Enterprise architecture.
• Update legacy auth services, reducing risk while maintaining security, compliance and performance.
• Partner with Product, Security, Compliance and Core Platform teams to align priorities and unblock dependencies.
• Stay close to technology and architecture to guide the team through complex trade-offs.
• Continuously improve how we build software - strengthen operational excellence and quality.
• Hire, coach and grow a high-performing team.
