Job summary

NuStaff Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a heavy manufacturing engineering function in Newport. You will shape the department, build capability and drive performance with a hands-on leadership style.

The role demands a strong technical foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering, at least 10 years of engineering experience and a track record in engineering management within steel or heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• At least 10 years of engineering experience
• Experience in engineering management
• Experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industry
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of OEE, TPM and maintenance improvements

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team across mechanical and electrical disciplines
• Improve plant reliability and overall manufacturing performance
• Develop preventative and planned maintenance strategies to reduce downtime
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (OEE, TPM)
• Collaborate with production to resolve technical issues and improve operations
• Promote health and safety culture and accountability
