Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead civil engineering activities for the Sizewell C project on the Suffolk coast. You will provide technical direction from design through construction, ensuring safety, quality and compliance while guiding multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes leadership in design management, temporary works, and engineering assurance, with a focus on delivering major infrastructure within a highly regulated environment. CSCS card is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong experience in civil engineering with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale or technically complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience in design management, temporary works, technical assurance and construction engineering.
• Understanding of civil design standards, construction methodologies and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence technical decisions, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, risk management and decision-making skills.
• Valid CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership: lead civil engineering activities from design through construction and delivery.
• Design management and assurance: review and approve drawings, specs and calculations for compliance and buildability.
• Temporary works and construction engineering: oversee temporary works and lifting operations where experienced.
• Engineering risk management: identify risks and develop mitigation strategies per safety requirements.
• Team leadership: mentor and develop engineers and specialists, promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder engagement: work with project managers, designers, contractors and clients to resolve challenges.
• Quality and technical compliance: review ITPs, RAMS, and promote engineering standards.
