Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Manager (Audio Visual) for the North West, split between office and site with UK travel. You will lead the delivery of commercial AV projects from survey to handover, acting as the senior technical authority and mentor for engineers.

You will shape engineering standards, develop the team, improve processes, and drive technical excellence across multi‑sector installations in hospitality, retail, corporate and public sectors.

Engineering Manager (Audio Visual)

North West (Office & Site Based with UK Travel), Ideally located: Manchester, Rochdale, Skelmersdale, Preston, Liverpool, Bradford, Leeds, Burnley, Oldham, Stockport, Bolton.

£50,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus (£5,000 - £10,000) + Pension + Progression.

Excellent opportunity for an engineering manager or senior AV professional to step into a leadership role within a growing and highly respected commercial AV business, where you will play a key role in shaping engineering standards, developing a team and driving technical excellence across projects. This company is a well‑established and growing AV solutions provider, delivering high‑quality projects across sectors including hospitality, retail, corporate and public sector environments. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a hands‑on Technical Delivery & Engineering Manager to lead from the front and elevate their engineering function.

In this role, you will split your time between office and site, supporting projects from initial survey through to commissioning and handover. You will act as the senior technical authority, providing guidance to engineers, troubleshooting complex installations and ensuring consistently high standards across all projects. Alongside this, you will take ownership of developing engineers, improving processes and implementing best practice across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of commercial AV projects from survey through to completion
• Act as senior technical point of contact for engineers and subcontractors
• Support commissioning, fault finding and complex installations
• Conduct site surveys and develop technical solutions
• Manage, mentor and develop engineering teams
• Improve installation standards, processes and documentation
• Office & site‑based role with UK travel

Qualifications

• Strong background in commercial AV installations
• Experience with systems such as displays, audio, VC, AV distribution or control systems
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Comfortable with site surveys, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills and leadership mindset
• Full UK Driving Licence
