Job summary

Rubix is seeking a proactive Engineering Workshop Lead to oversee repair and overhaul services for valves, PRVs and control valves in our industrial workshop. You will lead a team, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while collaborating with sales and operations.

The role emphasizes lean process improvement, strong customer liaison, and accountability for workshop KPIs and profitability, with hands-on technical leadership across mechanical and electrical repair activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading an engineering workshop.
  • Background in valve repair advantageous.
  • Ability to analyse data and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the workshop team to deliver repair and overhaul services for valves, PRVs and control valves.
  • Ensure full compliance with all HSEQ policies, procedures, and safety standards across workshop and onsite operations.
  • Manage workshop performance to achieve P&L targets, including revenue growth, gross margin, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a senior technical and operational contact for customers, delivering effective solutions and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean processes and best practice engineering standards.
  • Allocate engineering resources effectively to maximise productivity, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales and operational teams to support business growth, customer visits, and development of new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering repair operations within an industrial environment.

  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing workshop performance, KPIs and financial targets.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with customers, stakeholders, and cross functional teams.
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in IT systems, engineering software SolidWorks, Draftsight and Revit. Reporting tools with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
