Job summary

Petrofac is seeking a Valve Engineer to join our Aberdeen team. You will understand maintenance planning for NS regional assets, manage the valve request system, and chair bi-weekly progress meetings with assets and the valve contractor.

The role requires a technical engineering qualification, experience with isolation valves onshore/offshore in Oil & Gas, familiarity with API/ASME standards, and strong teamwork and communication to support BP and related contracts.

Qualifications

• Technical engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Experience resolving isolation valve issues onshore/offshore in oil and gas.
• Familiarity with API/ASME standards for valves and service requirements.
• Proficient with standard office and technical software.

Responsibilities

• Understand maintenance planning and demand management for NS regional assets.
• Manage the valve request system and workflow to support asset operations.
• Chair bi-weekly progress meetings with assets and the valve management contractor.
• Rationalize and approve equipment repairs and disposals for the region.
• Act as focal point for BP valve issues in the field.
• Conduct PSV RBI review and approval.
• Support CAM and improve contract management for valve services.
• Instigate, support, and approve valve-related eMoC, EQ, and IRIS actions.
• Provide break-in TAR support as required.
• Identify and realize efficiency improvement opportunities.
• Input in regional BP material master, BoMs, stocking, price book, sparing strategy, and inventory.

JOB TITLE: VALVE ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities

• Understand current maintenance planning and demand management for the NS regional assets.
• Managing the valve request system (VRS) and workflow to support the operational demands of the assets.
• Chair bi-weekly work progress meetings with the assets and BP’s valve management contractor.
• Rationalization and approval of equipment repairs and disposals for the region.
• Act as a focal point for assigned BP assets for valve-related equipment issues in the field.
• Conducting PSV RBI review and approval.
• Support Contract Accountable Manager (CAM) and improve contract management for the provision of valve management services.
• Instigation, support, and approval of valve-related eMoC, EQ, and IRIS actions.
• Providing break-in TAR support as and when required.
• Identify and realize efficiency improvement opportunities
• Provide functional input in the region to support the BP Central Material Master Improvement Program, BoMs, stocking strategy, price book, critical sparing strategy, preservation plan, and inventory.
• Leading by example and maintaining high standards within a hugely diverse environment.
• Sharing best practice when undertaking all work scopes and ensuring that a high-quality output is delivered consistently
• Support compliance with BP procedures.
• Attend supplier meetings as required.
• Attend BP Meetings as required

Essential Qualifications And Skills

• High education in technical discipline / relevant field, e.g. modern mechanical apprenticeship, national qualification, degree, etc.
• preferred degree with extensive experience resolving technical issues associated with Isolation Valves used Onshore and Offshore in the Oil and Gas Industry
• Good experience in using various office and technical computerised applications
• Familiarity with international standards (API, ASME, etc) applicable to valves and their service requirements
• Familiarity with valve-related technical specifications
• Be customer-focused, both internal and external
• Enthusiastic and driven to seek excellence and improvements on the different projects, they were engaged
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Be capable of group communication to direct and coordinate the maintenance of the entire facility.
