Job summary

Knowlton and Newman, part of the Rubix Group, seeks a multi-skilled Technician to install, assemble, test, commission, and maintain industrial systems and equipment. You will handle fault diagnosis, repairs, and documentation, with work across workshops and customer sites.

Ideal candidates have an engineering/technical background in industrial maintenance, plus hands-on experience with drawings, tools, and test equipment. Valid certifications and driving licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse job cards and work instructions to determine scope, status, limitations, and requirements.
  • Inspect, test, assemble, and commission industrial equipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Record work undertaken, parts used, and time spent, ensuring accurate completion of job documentation.
  • Operate workshop and site equipment safely, in line with training and company procedures.
  • Liaise with customers, colleagues, and management to provide updates and technical support.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and delivered on time.
  • Promote and uphold company values, focusing on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Precision machining of components, including turning, milling, and boring.

Job description

Knowlton and Newman, part of the Rubix Group, provide 24/7 engineering services. We repair, overhaul, install, and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic equipment and cover a wide range of industrial equipment for customers across multiple sectors.

The Technician role is a multi-skilled position, responsible for the installation, assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of industrial systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties
