About the role:

We are in search of a self-motivated, solution-oriented, and experienced Engineering Manager to join our Affinidi Elements team. In this role, you will collaborate with global peers across product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and engineering teams. Your responsibilities include leading the enhancement and development of a multi-component platform, applying your expertise in designing, architecting, and building quality systems, while fostering a high-performing team culture and developing team members. What’s in it for you:

• Lead the engineering team to develop features and improvements for the Affinidi Elements product, primarily using Typescript with NodeJs, ensuring security, testing, and performance.
• Analyze complex data to derive actionable insights for team and cross-team projects.
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to maintain high quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Help build the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
• Guide the team in solving large-scale, complex technical problems.
• Ensure code quality and standards are maintained, advocating for best practices in a high-scale environment.
• Own the delivery of complex features and collaborate on larger projects with cross-functional teams.
• Lead by example, coaching and mentoring engineers for professional growth.
• Foster a diverse, collaborative, transparent culture where everyone's ideas are valued.

Ideal candidate:

• Minimum 10 years of experience, with a strong background in performance optimization and prevention.
• Experience leading engineering teams in fast-paced, autonomous, and experimental environments.
• Hands-on coding experience, balanced with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record in delivering production-quality products according to industry standards.
• Expertise in developer tools such as CLI, SDK, Developer portals.
• Strong technical documentation skills, familiar with C4 Model and Architectural Decision Records.
• Experience with cloud computing, especially AWS serverless environments.
• Knowledge of design patterns, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and Test Driven Development.
• Passion for privacy by design, security, high-performance systems, and inclusive communication.
