Money as a Service (MaaS)

Money as a Service is a new org within Stripe focused on making money programmable: funding, FX’ing, sending, spending, etc. The MaaS teams build APIs and product experiences that enable Stripe users to perform these money management capabilities globally.

Recent products launched include:

• APIs for processing payments and enabling regional, non-card payment options
• Stripe’s capabilities to accept in-person payments
• Optimized Checkout and Link teams creating best-in-class checkout experiences
• The Risk Engineering team developing products to minimize financial and regulatory risks while ensuring a seamless user experience

What you’ll do

We’re seeking backend, frontend, and fullstack engineers interested in building impactful software services and platforms for thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users, including end users, developers, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, user experiences, services, and large-scale systems handling billions of money movement requests
• Debug and resolve critical production issues across services and stack levels
• Mentor engineers to support their growth
• Engage directly with users to shape product changes
• Collaborate across teams to develop new features at scale, while improving standards, tooling, and processes
• Work effectively in a distributed, hybrid team environment, maintaining open communication

• 2-12+ years of industry software engineering experience (excluding internships and co-ops)
• Strong coding skills in any programming language (language-agnostic interview process)
• Excellent collaboration skills to work across workstreams and contribute to team success
• Ability to thrive with autonomy, responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Interest in working as a generalist across various technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight users

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building user interfaces
• Experience with user research or interaction design
• Experience designing and building APIs

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in their local office or with users. This balances in-person collaboration with flexibility based on individual and team needs.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £81,200 - £156,000. This may vary based on location. For sales roles, the range includes target commissions/bonuses (OTE). The salary range will be refined during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants outside the primary location can request the salary range for their area during interviews.
