Electrical Facilities Maintenance Technician needed in Newbury


Are you a skilled electrician with experience of working in facilities management looking for a new challenge? This company is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join their dynamic team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician with an Electrical bias. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and operation of a state-of-the-art data centre in Newbury.


About the Role

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for completing both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as regular scenario testing to ensure the facility is prepared for any technical issues. You will work closely with other team members and suppliers, contributing to health and safety documentation and assisting with site visits.


The Facilities Maintenance Technician role includes on-call duties, which will be incorporated after an initial training period to familiarise you with the data centre's operations. This position offers excellent opportunities for overtime and an on-call allowance.


What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant electrical discipline, along with practical experience as a qualified engineer. You should have demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, building management systems, and the maintenance of environmental equipment such as HVAC, UPS, generators, and fire alarm systems.


Experience in critical engineering activities and a strong team-oriented approach are essential. The company values customer-first behaviours, so the ability to provide technical advice and prioritise customer needs is highly desirable.
