Job summary

New City College is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Engineering to join the Rainham Campus. You will teach and assess learners across Engineering programmes from Level 2 to HNC, including 14–19 provision, adult learners and apprentices.

You will support learners to develop technical knowledge and practical skills, delivering engaging sessions and timely feedback to help students progress and complete qualifications.

Qualifications

• You are a qualified Engineer with industry experience and a passion for teaching.
• You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a teaching qualification such as PGCE, PTLLS or DTLLS.
• Experience developing assessment plans and schemes of work is required; A1 is required, V1 desirable.
• Strong commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching, training and assessment across accredited Engineering qualifications.
• Plan and develop student-centred learning activities and assessment plans.
• Assess and support students and apprentices from induction to achievement.
• Provide regular feedback, tutorials and individual support to learners.
• Contribute to development and continuous improvement of Engineering programmes.
• Work closely with colleagues, employers, awarding bodies and partners.
• Maintain accurate learner, assessment and course records; support QA processes.
