Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking an inspirational Engineering Lecturer to deliver engaging sessions that build practical literacy for work, study, and life. You will tailor schemes of work for diverse learners and provide constructive feedback to drive progress.

Role requires a recognised teaching qualification, experience teaching Engineering in FE, and ability to differentiate for mixed-ability groups. The college offers generous holidays, pension, CPD, and parking.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Production and Performing Arts within Further Education.
• The ability to teach across all levels and have industry background.
• Recent experience teaching Engineering from entry-level through to Level 2 and Level 3 - ideally within a Further Education/College setting;
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies.
• The ability to differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups.
• Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress using digital systems.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging schemes of work tailored to learners with diverse starting points
• Use learner-centred teaching and assessment strategies to drive progress and achievement
• Provide clear, constructive feedback that builds confidence and promotes independence
• Monitor and track attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where required
• Support learners with varying barriers to education, creating an inclusive and motivating classroom environment
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains relevant to employment and progression pathways
• Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of education policies and practice.
