Job summary

East Midland Institute of Technology at Loughborough College invites applications for a Lecturer in Engineering (Higher-Education). You will teach Level 4–6 Engineering modules to a mix of part-time, full-time and Higher Apprenticeship HE students, using varied teaching strategies to motivate learners.

The role requires an engineering degree or MSc, willingness to work towards a teaching qualification, and occasional travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• Possess an engineering degree or Master in Engineering.
• Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
• Willingness to travel to other work locations as required.
• Experience in a relevant vocational industry setting (power industry transmission/distribution, high current/voltage applications or operating related equipment).

Responsibilities

• Use industry experience to contextualise learning and develop students’ understanding of electrical engineering and power networks.
• Play a key role in quality assurance and quality improvement processes – full training will be provided.
• Deliver high quality and challenging learning experiences.
