Job summary

SF Technology Partners in Birmingham is seeking an Engineering Lead to own the next phase of product development. You will be a senior, hands-on leader working across software, hardware, AI and technical programme leadership to drive production-ready systems.

You will own the product roadmap, manage milestones and coordinate across engineering, operations, commercial and marketing teams, while building and mentoring the engineering team. A clear path to CTO is offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in product or engineering development with leadership responsibility.
• Experience developing consumer hardware, appliances or other complex physical products.
• Experience managing hardware and software development simultaneously.
• Strong technical programme management across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Ability to challenge engineers and make system-level decisions.
• Proven experience hiring, mentoring and developing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Turn the product vision and roadmap into an executable engineering programme.
• Own milestones, risks and critical-path management across hardware and software.
• Prioritise sequencing across hardware and software teams.
• Define requirements, specifications and system-level trade-offs.
• Coordinate engineering, operations, commercial and marketing teams.
• Build, hire, mentor and develop the engineering team.
• Manage budget, resources, suppliers and external partners.
• Ensure product quality and engineering standards.
• Communicate progress, risks and decisions to founders and the board.
