Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking a CTO to own technical strategy, architecture, and hiring across product engineering, infrastructure, and applied AI. This hands-on leadership role blends big-picture direction with practical code oversight and team growth.

You'll move between architecture decisions and hands-on dives, working closely with founders, customers, and research to ensure a production-grade platform and scalable engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Track record of building and scaling real-world software systems.
• Broad tech range: backend, cloud, data, AI/ML.
• Experience leading early-stage engineering teams.
• Sound judgement on architecture and debt.
• Bridge research and production disciplines.
• Genuine ownership with follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Shape the platform's architecture and turn early-stage prototypes into dependable, production-ready systems.
• Grow and lead the engineering function, covering infrastructure and applied AI integration.
• Set standards for quality, testing, security, and uptime.
• Decide what to build versus what to buy and translate input into a roadmap.
• Take ownership of data handling, security, and operational maturity for larger customers.
• Act as the technical face of the company for customers, partners, and investors.
