Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an Engineering Lead at the University of Greenwich campus in Medway/Chatham to lead Hard FM operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performing facilities for students and staff.

You will manage a team of engineers and technical specialists, drive compliance, and deliver outstanding facilities services in a complex university environment, with opportunities to influence operational excellence and career growth.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing or related engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of building services and Hard FM operations.
• Minimum 2 years' experience managing teams in facilities/engineering.
• Experience with audits, compliance, risk assessments and safety.
• Proficient in MS Office and FM management systems.
• Experience producing performance reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Ensure statutory inspections and maintenance programmes meet requirements.
• Oversee safe operation of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Manage contractors and track KPIs and service standards.
• Maintain audit readiness and accurate asset records.
• Build relationships with university stakeholders and contractors.
