Job Role: Engineering Supervisor
To provide leadership and effectively deliver the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the plant within a multi-skilled engineering team, in accordance with best practices and JLL standards. Primarily support the team in delivering all aspects of engineering services.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Manage maintenance engineers, including conducting monthly one-to-ones, annual reviews, and setting objectives.
- Oversee all planned maintenance tasks within the contract, manage reactive calls and breakdowns, and report monthly SLAs to support the FM team with reports and weekly SLA calls.
- Lead your team of technicians to support agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Ensure team use the JLL CAFM system to accurately record PPM and reactive tasks.
- Ensure timely completion of ECAP or other client system approvals.
- Manage on-site contractors by reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and supporting permit-to-work issues; ensure site inductions for engineering staff and third-party vendors.
- Implement and manage JLL health and safety policies, updating risk assessments and method statements, and maintaining up-to-date records and communication.
- Maintain JLL H+S logbooks, ensuring all records are current.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, recording and monitoring attendance.
- Ensure team completes monthly mandatory Workday online training.
- Review JLL Water logbook records monthly, escalate any parameters out of tolerance, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Supervise all water treatment and testing procedures.
- Manage security and engineers' monthly on-call rota, overtime, and call-out payments.
- Assist the Facility Manager with monthly billing tracking and control of M+E invoicing costs.
- Maintain statutory compliance logbooks and records, supporting timely receipt of compliance reports.
- Support the Facility Manager with energy-saving initiatives.
- Hold regular meetings with site staff to foster communication and generate new initiatives.
- Conduct biannual and annual performance reviews via the JLL IPMP process.
- Support refurbishment and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal operational impact.
- Manage the client’s IT Change Management process as the single point of contact.
- Perform Electrical AP duties in accordance with scheduled plans and reactive needs.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in critical environments such as data centers or corporate banking.
- HV Authorized Person with at least 5 years’ experience.
- Electrical Engineering HNC/HND/NVQ or completed apprenticeship.
- C&G Pts. 1 & 2, or equivalent.
- 17th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation (ability to attain 18th Edition through training).
- IOSH Working Safely or NEBOSH equivalent.
- IPAF certification (combined).
- L8 Awareness Training.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with staff, management, and customers.
- Leadership skills to motivate and direct a team of engineers.
- Proactive with a high standard of operation.
- Good IT skills and report writing capabilities (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of working in M&E, FM, and TFM environments.
- Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, and Method Statement experience or training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Auditing training or experience.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, legislation, and British Standards.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and autonomous.
- Flexible and adaptable to work requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines.
- Calm and composed in conflict situations, with good resolution skills.
