Job summary

Prestige Recruitment Specialists seeks an Engineering Lecturer to join a reputable engineering training organisation in Hull, with travel to Grimsby and Scunthorpe. The role involves delivering practical engineering education to apprentices and adults across Levels 3–5, developing materials and guiding learners toward professional progression.

You may not need teaching experience, as funding and support are offered to complete a Cert Ed or PGCE.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline - essential.
  • Significant relevant engineering industry experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
  • Genuine interest in mentoring, developing and supporting others.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle - essential due to travel between training centres.
  • Teaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • All successful applicants will be required to complete a DBS check as part of recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, practical and classroom-based learning to engineering apprentices and adult learners across Level 3, 4 and 5 programmes.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering teaching and learning.
  • Support apprentices and adult learners to develop their technical knowledge and practical understanding.
  • Teach subjects including Mechanical Principles, Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Engineering Design, Fluid Mechanics and CAD.
  • Cover areas such as Health & Safety, Lean Manufacturing, Production Engineering and Quality & Process Improvement.
  • Support learners with professional engineering management and development.
  • Supervise Level 3 and Level 4 engineering projects.
  • Support Level 5 research projects.
  • Develop engaging learning materials and maintain high standards of learner support.
  • Help learners build knowledge, skills and confidence to progress within the engineering industry.

Salary: £40,990 - £43,402 per annum

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:15pm | Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Lecturer to join a highly established engineering training organisation, delivering high-quality technical education and development to the next generation of engineers.

You don't necessarily need previous teaching experience. If you have a degree and strong industry experience, you will be supported to transition into education, with funding and support available to complete a Cert Ed or PGCE.

The Role

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, practical and classroom-based learning to engineering apprentices and adult learners across Level 3, 4 and 5 programmes.

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional who is ready to share their knowledge and help develop future engineers.

You will ideally have:

Candidates without a teaching qualification will be supported and funded to complete a Cert Ed or PGCE. This qualification will be completed in the candidate's own time.
