Job summary

Tameside Council’s Engineering Service seeks an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead civil and structural design teams, shaping and delivering infrastructure improvements for the borough.

You will provide technical leadership, coordinate design services across the team for internal council clients, and drive programmes that include highways schemes, drainage, public realm projects and major regeneration work with LLFA duties.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in programme, project and contractual management.
• Understanding of design standards and local authority processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the identification and management of external funding opportunities and bid processes.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate design services across the team.
• Deliver design and project management expertise for Engineering Services and internal council clients.
• Manage and develop a team of professional staff to meet standards and service levels.
