Job summary

Tameside Council’s Engineering Service seeks an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead civil and structural design teams and shape infrastructure improvements. You will coordinate design services, provide technical leadership, and ensure delivery to standards for council clients.

The role focuses on leading a team, governance, and managing complex highway, drainage, and regeneration projects with opportunities to secure external funding and drive major schemes across the borough.

Qualifications

• A proven track record in programme, project and contractual management.
• Awareness of commercial practices within a construction environment.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Familiarity with governance and decision-making in a public sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support civil and structural design teams to deliver infrastructure improvements.
