An established industry player is seeking an Engineering Delivery Team Leader to join their Highways Services Team. This pivotal role involves managing projects related to traffic engineering and civil engineering while leading the strategy for long-term structural maintenance of highways. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Highways Services Team at Luton Council as an Engineering Delivery Team Leader!
The purpose of this role is to support the Major Projects Manager in managing projects, contracts, and delivery related to traffic engineering, traffic signals, public lighting, civil engineering, and related projects.
You will lead the development of the strategy for the long-term structural maintenance of highways in Luton.
Office Location: Kingsway Depot, Luton.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in traffic engineering, civil engineering, public lighting, traffic signals engineering, and project management. Knowledge of budget monitoring, forecasting, and securing external funding is essential.
You should demonstrate excellent communication skills, tactfulness in dealing with inquiries and complaints, and the ability to present complex issues clearly through reports and presentations.
Qualifications required include a Highways Engineering qualification such as a Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent, along with knowledge of legislation, guidelines, and best practices related to highway maintenance, asset management, drainage, public lighting, traffic signals, and highway structures.
