Job summary

KMRecruitment is recruiting an Engineering Assessor/Trainer (Trainee or Qualified) for Manchester, field/site based. You will assess and mentor learners pursuing Apprenticeships in Engineering Maintenance and related disciplines.

Essential: solid engineering competency, Level 3 in Engineering, and a willingness to work towards teaching/assessing qualifications, plus full UK driving licence and ability to travel.

• Manage diary to ensure timely visits and reviews.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to learner needs.

Job Title: Engineering Assessor/ Trainer (Trainee or Qualified)

Location:Manchester – Field/Site based

Salary:up to £43,700 (inclusive of car allowance) – Salary depending on experience and qualifications

Type:Full Time, Permanent

Essential Criteria (for all candidates):

• Must hold solid, occupational competency within Engineering.
• Must hold a minimum of Level 3 in an Engineering discipline.
• An understanding of the Mathematical and Scientific principles of the Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
• Hold, or be willing to work towards, recognised Teaching / Assessing qualifications.
• An understanding of Apprenticeship programmes.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel.

Duties:

• Assess/mentor learners working towards Apprenticeships in Engineering Maintenance (Lead Engineering Maintenance Technician; Engineering Manufacturing Technician; Engineering Maintenance Technician – dual and single disciplines).
• Meet Assessor KPI’s in terms of timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration.
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.

• Must be an excellent communicator who is learner and quality focused.
• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people
• Quality driven and prepared to go the extra mile for your learners
