Responsibilities
- Coordinate work relating to the construction of new adopted highways by developers, including the technical aspects of S38 agreements, checking and agreement of designs, inspection of works and issuing of certificates.
- Coordinate activity relating to undertakings of works to the adopted highway through S278 agreements, including the technical aspects of agreements, checking and agreement of designs, inspection of works and issuing of certificates.
- Coordinate activity relating to proposals for stopping up of adopted highways or the adoption of private streets.
- Develop and maintain a customer‑orientated, high‑quality approach to service delivery. Collaborate as part of a team to enhance service delivery, ensuring individual and team objectives are met, and stay up to date with policies and procedures. Attend meetings and training as necessary.
Requirements and qualifications
- Degree in an engineering field or possession of Incorporated Engineer status, with knowledge of civil engineering and construction practice. Good numeracy, literacy, organisation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Current driving licence or ability to mobility support.
Essential criteria
- A thorough knowledge of highway adoption procedures.
- Experience of site inspections.
- Knowledge of highway law in relation to highway adoption procedures.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Project.
- Experience of: at least five years in a traffic/transportation or engineering environment at an appropriate level of responsibility.
- Qualifications: educated to degree level in an engineering field or possession of Incorporated Engineer status. Current driving licence.
