What You Will Be Doing

As an Engineer at our Rochdale facility, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining, servicing and repairing factory machinery to ensure production runs seamlessly and safely across rotating early and late shifts.

• Service, maintain and repair factory equipment to achieve key performance targets, optimise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and meet strict technical standards.
• Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns, performing effective fault diagnosis and corrective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Execute and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance routines, using root cause analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues.
• Log maintenance activities via CMMS tools, manage spare parts efficiently and collaborate with cross-departmental teams without direct management responsibilities.

What You Will Bring

We are looking for a proactive technical professional who combines hands‑on engineering skills with high standards for health, safety and continuous improvement. You will bring an analytical mindset and a strong commitment to team collaboration.

• Experience: A background within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (food industry experience preferred), with a proven track record in carrying out preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Soft skills: Clear communication abilities, effective problem‑solving skills, a collaborative mindset and a dedication to safety and continuous learning.
• Hard skills: A recognised engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering, with strong diagnostic abilities and familiarity with CMMS reporting tools.
