Job summary

Danish Crown UK Ltd. in Bugle is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide hands-on support across butchery and production machinery. The successful candidate will work closely with production teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining equipment reliability.

Qualifications

Job description

What you will be doing

• Engineering & Maintenance: Provide hands‑on mechanical and electrical support across our butchery, curing and sealing machinery, including de‑rinders, injectors and vacuum sealers.
• Preventative Maintenance: Carry out planned PPM schedules and use root cause analysis to help reduce unplanned downtime.
• Working with Production: Support daily production targets by working closely with the Production, Hygiene and Quality teams during line changeovers and equipment set ups.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow site Health & Safety policies, GMP and HACCP standards at all times, ensuring all work meets hygiene and food safety requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Keep accurate records within the CMMS and help identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and overall performance.

What you’ll bring

• Experience: You’ll have previous experience working as a shift or maintenance engineer within food manufacturing or processing, ideally with exposure to meat or protein production.
• Technical skills: You’ll hold a recognised engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or Multi‑skilled) and have strong fault‑finding skills across both processing and packaging equipment.
• Personal qualities: You’ll be a proactive team player with good communication skills, able to stay calm under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
