Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Stevenage is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a food manufacturing environment. You will be electrically biased with a focus on minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement and maintaining a safe, efficient site.

The role carries a salary of £51,750 with a 4 on 4 off days & night shift pattern. The ideal candidate will be apprentice-trained with NVQ Level 3, have strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, and experience in FMCG

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs and drives.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on production equipment.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise disruption to production.
• Repair and maintain the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic elements of the plant.
• Fault-find and resolve recurring machinery issues.
• Support the development and improvement of planned maintenance systems.
• Carry out routine checks, lubrication and scheduled maintenance.
• Ensure machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
