Job summary

Plan B Midlands Limited is seeking an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to service, maintain and repair a wide range of automatic door systems across Greater London. Join a leading global entrances solutions provider known for high‑performance doors and access solutions used in retail, healthcare, transport and commercial environments.

You will work on-site at customer sites, perform BS EN 16005 safety checks, diagnostics, and provide first‑time fixes where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with automatic doors, speed lanes or turnstiles.
• Strong fault-finding skills and basic electrical knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence and relevant operating licences.
• Ability to work independently across customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, repairing and fault-finding on sliding, swing and revolving doors.
• Electrical checks, sensor testing and control system diagnostics.
• Completing BS EN 16005 safety checks and compliance documentation.
• Attending breakdowns and delivering first-time fixes where possible.
• Supporting installations and commissioning when required.
• Providing clear updates and a professional on-site service.

Role Overview

You’ll support customers across the Greater London area, carrying out service, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of automatic door systems.

Your work will include

• Servicing, repairing and fault‑finding on sliding, swing and revolving doors
• Electrical checks, sensor testing and control system diagnostics
• Completing BS EN 16005 safety checks and compliance documentation
• Attending breakdowns and delivering first‑time fixes where possible
• Supporting installations and commissioning when required
• Providing clear updates and a professional on‑site service

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for an engineer who brings technical capability, reliability and a customer‑focused approach. You’ll need:

• Experience with automatic doors, speed lanes or turnstiles
• Strong fault‑finding skills and basic electrical knowledge
• A full UK driving licence + relevant operating licences
• Confidence working independently across customer sites
• A positive attitude and commitment to high‑quality engineering

Salary & Rewards

• On‑call premium: £200 per week (£2,400 per year)
