Job summary

JMC Aviation Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Workshop Team Leader to sign off routine maintenance, inspections and service bulletins on CFM56 and LEAP Series aircraft engines while overseeing the shop floor and mentoring junior technicians.

You will lead maintenance tasks, ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with engineering, quality and production teams in a safety-focused environment. This is a hands-on leadership role within a dynamic aviation specialist.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry.
• Experience in an engine shop or aircraft MRO.
• Able to certify engine maintenance and release to service.
• Hands-on leader capable of mentoring engineers.
• Experience with CFM, LEAP or V2500 engines advantageous.
• Familiar with AMM/Shop Manual procedures.
• Knowledge of Quality Procedures and EASA/FAA Part 145 requirements.
• Good computer literacy with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of aircraft engines and components in line with approved procedures.
• Certify completed work in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities meet airworthiness, safety, and quality standards.
• Act as a Team Leader, overseeing maintenance tasks and supervising engineers where needed.
• Mentoring junior engineers, supporting learning and development where needed.
• Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and implement corrective actions.
• Complete and sign off maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal quality systems.
• Liaise with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Performing supplementary shop and housekeeping duties as required.
• Ensure compliance and Health and Safety procedures as required.
• Follow technical drawings/procedures as needed.
• Keeping relevant records updated.
