Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a History Teacher for a secondary school in York. The role covers KS3/KS4 with GCSE preparation, teaching history across the curriculum, and contributing to the Humanities team. The post is a full-time, permanent contract with an ASAP start.

The successful candidate will plan engaging lessons, assess student work and support learners in developing analytical and written skills. QTS and History degree are required.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or be eligible for Early Career Teacher status.
• Degree in History or strong subject knowledge in History.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach History in line with the school's curriculum and prepare students for GCSE History.
• Develop students' source analysis and essay-writing skills.
• Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs and maintain high behaviour standards.
• Assess written work and provide constructive feedback to support progress.
• Collaborate with Humanities colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development.
