Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a History Teacher for a secondary school in Whitley Bay to start ASAP. The role covers KS3–KS4, with GCSE preparation and ongoing assessment.

You will deliver engaging history lessons, develop critical thinking and writing skills, and monitor pupil progress. QTS or equivalent and strong subject knowledge are essential. This position offers a supportive humanities team and a clear route from temporary to permanent employment.

Qualifications

• What you must have: QTS or equivalent qualification.
• Solid History subject knowledge.
• Ability to engage students through discussion and evidence-based tasks.
• Strong classroom management and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach History across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver lessons developing chronological understanding and historical knowledge.
• Teach source evaluation, interpretation and essay writing.
• Prepare GCSE pupils for examinations and assessments.
