Job summary

TeacherActive is working with several mainstream secondary schools in Leeds to appoint an enthusiastic History Teacher for day-to-day or long-term roles, with an immediate start available. You will deliver engaging History lessons across KS3–KS5 and support GCSE and A Level exam preparation.

Requirements include QTS with History specialization (ECTs welcome), experience teaching History in a secondary setting, strong knowledge of GCSE/A Level history, and a proactive, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with History specialization (ECTs welcome)
• Experience teaching History in a secondary school
• Strong knowledge of GCSE and A Level History curricula
• Experience supporting GCSE/A Level exam preparation and interventions

Yorkshire and Humber/ contract / £150 - 190 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with several mainstream secondary schools based in Leeds, who are looking to appoint a History Teacher. The schools provide education to students across Key Stage 3 / KS3, Key Stage 4 / KS4 and Key Stage 5 / KS5, with a focus on developing historical knowledge, critical thinking and analytical skills.

The schools are looking to take on an enthusiastic History Teacher for day-to-day or long-term opportunities, with an immediate start available. The successful History Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging History lessons, supporting students with GCSE and A Level exam preparation, and helping learners develop their essay writing, source analysis and examination techniques.

The successful History Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS with a History specialism (ECTs are also welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE and A Level History curriculum
• Experience supporting students with examination preparation and targeted interventions
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
