Job summary

The Royal British Legion seeks an Activities Assistant for Galanos House Care Home in Southam, Warwickshire. This full-time, permanent position is 35 hours weekly across seven days, focusing on planning and running a varied roster of activities and social events tailored to residents’ interests and needs.

You’ll work closely with residents, relatives and staff, bringing patience and empathy, and you’ll typically have about two years’ relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship available.
• Around two years of experience in a similar role.
• Patient, empathetic and good listener with strong communication skills.
• Full, clean UK driving licence; comfortable driving an automatic vehicle.
• Level 2 Award in Supporting Provision in Social Care is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of activities and events.
• Get to know residents’ interests and needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and relatives to create personalised activities.
• Encourage participation and provide companionship.
• Support residents during mealtimes to create a relaxed dining experience.
• Provide one-to-one support and accompany residents to appointments.
• Bring ideas and enthusiasm to make everyday life enjoyable.
