Job summary

The Royal British Legion is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant for Maurice House Care Home in Broadstairs, Kent. You will create engaging activity programmes, get to know residents, and work with families to tailor experiences that reflect individual needs.

A Level 2 Social Care award is advantageous, with a focus on companionship and enabling residents to stay active. Role is 18 hours per week, with shifts across seven days.

Qualifications

• Patient, empathetic and good listener with strong communication skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role or environment is important.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 2 Award in Supporting Provision in Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of activities and events.
• Get to know residents and tailor activities to interests and needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and relatives to create personalised activities.
• Encourage participation and support during mealtimes and events.
• Provide companionship, accompany residents to appointments and activities.
