Job summary

MHA’s Hampton Lodge care home in Southampton invites applications for an Activities Co-ordinator. You will design and deliver a varied activities programme to enhance residents’ social, physical and emotional wellbeing, while collaborating with families, volunteers and local groups to broaden engagement.

You will support residents with IT tools, maintain records for care plans, and help adapt activities as needs change.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people through meaningful engagement.
• Ability to design and deliver group and individual activities that motivate participation.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Comfort with using IT tools to support residents.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and deliver a programme of activities based on residents' social needs.
• Promote wellbeing through inclusive, engaging activities for individuals and groups.
• Support residents with IT options to stay connected with family and friends.
• Liaise with colleagues, relatives, volunteers and community groups to coordinate events.
• Keep accurate records of activities, attendance and outcomes for care plans.
• Review and adapt activity programmes to changing resident needs and preferences.
• Assist with induction of new staff and support team colleagues.
• Ensure safe use and maintenance of activity resources, within budget.
• Follow safeguarding, infection control and health & safety policies.
• Attend training and possible travel to other MHA locations.
