John Ruskin College is seeking an Engagement Coach to support learners who cannot attend college due to illness, anxiety, or other barriers. You will manage a caseload, provide coaching and practical support, and help learners reintegrate into face-to-face education when appropriate.

You will build trusted relationships, track engagement, and work with staff, parents and external agencies to promote attendance and participation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with 14–19-year-olds or vulnerable learners.
• Experience supporting learners facing barriers to attendance.
• Understanding of learner engagement, attendance and retention strategies.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Maintain regular and purposeful contact with learners with absence or reduced attendance.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to promote motivation and engagement.
• Develop personalised reintegration plans including phased returns.
• Support learner engagement, welfare, attendance, safeguarding and reintegration.
• Track engagement with remote learning and independent study.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams, parents, carers, safeguarding staff and external agencies.
• Contribute to attendance, retention and inclusive practice across the College.
