Job summary

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) invites applications for a Learner Engagement Manager at the Writtle campus. You will provide day-to-day leadership of a team of Learner Engagement Assistants, delivering high-quality pastoral support and coordinating safeguarding across the college.

Working with curriculum teams, students, families and external agencies, you will remove barriers to learning, promote wellbeing and achievement, and contribute to safeguarding policy development.

Qualifications

• Experience in a pastoral or safeguarding leadership role within an FE college or similar educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding support and positive outcomes for learners.
• Proven day-to-day line management experience.
• Degree and continuing professional development relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-quality pastoral support and oversee caseloads.
• Develop and support Learner Engagement Assistants and ensure timely learner interventions.
• Coordinate support with curriculum colleagues, students, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Promote wellbeing, attendance, engagement and achievement across learners.
• Contribute to safeguarding and inclusion practices across the College.
• Fulfil Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) responsibilities.
