Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a caring Engagement Coach to support children with additional needs in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire. This part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 11:00am–3:00pm, providing one-to-one and small-group support to help children engage and participate in activities.

You will help build confidence, communication and social skills, while collaborating with a supportive team in a safeguarding-focused setting. Training and DBS checks are provided.

Engagement Coach – Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire

Protocol Education | Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 11:00am–3:00pm

Protocol Education are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Engagement Coach to join a supportive setting in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, working with small groups of children with additional needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children build confidence, develop their skills and engage positively in their environment.

The Role

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping children to participate in activities and overcome barriers to engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting small groups of children with additional needs
  • Encouraging positive engagement and participation
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Supporting communication, social skills and independence
  • Helping deliver engaging and appropriate activities
  • Providing consistent and patient support
  • Responding positively to individual needs and behaviours
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be:

Experience within SEND, schools, childcare, youth work or similar settings is desirable, but not essential. Protocol Education are particularly interested in people who have the right personality, attitude and passion for supporting children.

Position Details

Location: Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire

Hours: Monday–Friday, 11:00am–3:00pm

Role: Part-time Engagement Coach

Start: ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
