Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a proactive Energy Manager to support delivery of the Council’s energy and sustainability objectives across its estate. The role requires strong data handling, supplier management and a practical approach to reducing energy consumption and costs while cutting carbon emissions.

Qualifications

• Experience in energy management and energy efficiency in public sector buildings.
• Knowledge of national carbon management and statutory reporting.
• Experience in managing energy accounts and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review, validate and pay utility invoices promptly.
• Manage utility recharges for third-party occupiers and cost recovery.
• Oversee energy data collection and meter readings for accurate bills.
• Coordinate with suppliers to roll out smart metering across the portfolio.
• Ensure Display Energy Certificates and Recommendation Reports are current.
• Report on energy use and carbon emissions to inform decisions.
